The meetup
Two weeks apart, alternating. A shoot night is a walk somewhere with good light where everyone shoots. Two weeks later, once the film is back from the lab, a share night: a short lesson on one thing, then everyone shows a few frames and talks about them.
Any camera. Film shooters bring a roll. Digital shooters get 36 frames on a shoot night, same as a roll, so everyone has to think before pressing the button. Phones count.
It is free. There is nothing to buy and nobody is selling anything. Show up, meet people, get better.

No dates on the calendar yet. The first shoot night gets announced by email, then it shows up here with an RSVP.
How it works
- Shoot night. Meet at the spot, walk, shoot. Ross is there to answer questions while you work. One roll, or 36 frames. About two hours.
- Share night. Bring scans, prints, or files. Twenty minutes on one topic, then frames from the group. About ninety minutes.
- Who. Anyone. First roll ever or thirty years in. Under 18 with an adult.
- Be decent. Ask before photographing people up close. Give feedback the way you would want it. Anyone who makes it uncomfortable for others is asked to leave.
